There's still some good left in this world.

Every year I watch the LOTR trilogy at least once and to this day it never ceases to invoke inspiration and wonder out of me.  This is my favourite scene from The Two Towers and one of my favourite scenes in the whole trilogy.  Not only was Peter Jackson's direction of LOTR a visual and cinematic wonder, it was also very heartfelt and deep.

Let the yearly tradition continue.

30 faces of Jinx

I don't know what to say.  I hate League of Legends (the e-sports competitive aspect of it).  I think Riot is shady.  But I'm absolutely in love with their new champion.  I believe Jinx is the best female champion that they've created to date.  No other champ is quite as alive as she is. Oh my.

Best TV show to ever exist: Breaking Bad

The series ended last night and I now do not have a clue on how Breaking Bad is going to be topped.  I'm sad it's over but I'm glad they did it right.  It was the perfect ending to a perfect show.  If you still have no watched this series, please do yourself a favor and start ASAP.

And I leave you with this.....

24 and still going.

Year after year.  That's what it's starting to feel like now.  It isn't necessarily a bad feeling but this past weekend after the fleeting excitement of UFC 165 at the ACC, down town Toronto (which by the way had the best fight in the history of MMA. Also Gustaffson should have won.), post-fight at Minerva (Korean restaurant), meeting up with all the guys from high school, I came to the realization that we are all on that same journey.

Yes, we are all on different paths.  Yes, our interests and our focus in life are going to start to vary greatly as the years go by but we are all just young adults still trying to fit into the world of supposed adult-hood.  Whether that means that you should already have a career or are still going to school, the definition is not set in stone
;whether you're working or not, we are still young and there is still a lot ahead of us.
For now, we focus on our work as much as we can without killing ourselves.

For now, it's all about having fun. And that's OK.

Happy Birthdays and a bit of splurging.

Thanks to everyone that came this past Saturday for the birthday BBQ dinner for Albert and I.  Great friends, great food & great games (thanks Mike!).

I got one gift from Alvin and it was an awesome one at that.  A Juggernaut figurine (a hero from Valve's DOTA 2) that Alvin hand sculpted.  I greatly appreciate all the hours he put into making this tiny Omnislasher and his decision to gift it to me.

Also today GTA V came out, so guess what I went out to get?  Also Walmart had some anniversary sale and with the advent of Pokemon X & Y, I finally decided to bite the bullet and grab a Nintendo 3DSXL.  That and it was $50 less.

Below is the picture that encompasses all the materialism that I am currently bathing in.

That's all I have to say about that.  And what do you know, this is the first blogpost of the month, my word.

August 13-18. 2013- Virginia Beach Family Trip

Yo!

Long time no post but I don't care, I am not going to get into that.  Enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed the trip!

 Virginia Beach!

 Jollibee!

First birthday celebrated with this anthropomorphic happy go lucky bee.
Immediately after entering this restaurant, it felt like a different country.  Home comfort and nostalgia hit hard.

Guess the geese from up north have started to travel south.  A ton of 'em outside Jollibee.
First meal of Jollibee and I get the double Burger Steak meal with a Pandan flavored Pearl Cooler!

Slain!  With a piece of Jollibee's world famous Chicken Joy.
On the shores of Virginia Beach.
More home comforts with Red Ribbon!
 Fresh pandesal.
Local Filipino restaurant.  Filipino BBQ with beef kaldereta on the side.  So yummers.
Incredible piece of civil engineering - Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

This tunnel is a part of the bridge and is literally underneath the Atlantic Ocean.  Pretty crazy if you think about it.

The vegetation is so foreign to the vegetation we have in Ontario, Canada.
Surreal Fantasy like Sunsets on the shores along the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

Jollibee round 2!  This time with the Aloha Burger and another Pandan Pearl Cooler.
Aloha= Hawaiian= Pineapple= Pineapple removed because I hate pineapple with main dishes.
Sonic Burger!  The best quick dirty hamburger places around!  The In-N-Out Burger of the East Coast since In-N-Out are exclusive to the West Coast.  So. Fucking. Good.

Alex Wong, I'm lookin' at you for commentary on the pics below.

Chillidogs and 50% off Milkshakes @ Sonic Burger!
Last meal in Jollibee restaurant.  This a Tapsilog (Beef Tapa, Itlog (egg)) breakfast meal.  Again, delicious.  It's OK, we brought plenty of Jollibee home and the Chicken Joys are still plentiful. (For now.)
 Endless dark rest stops.
Teriyaki restaurant in a Food Court in PA.
Traffic at the border. 90 minute wait.
Picked up Cloud from the doggy hotel today!  He totally missed us.

So, that is all for now.  Glad to be back; both physically at home and on blogspot.
