Golden Gate Bridge

Inspired by Reinard's post, I looked up Aokigohara to find some very disturbing pics and info in the forest. Apparantly its a place associated with Japanese myths and demons. And due to high wind resistance by the trees and lack of wildlife, it is eerily quiet.

So on wiki, this is apparantly the second most popular suicide site....the highest was... Golden Gate.... check this, taken from wiki:

"The Golden Gate Bridge is the most popular place to commit suicide in the entire world.[49] The deck is approximately 245 feet (75 m) above the water.[50] After a fall of approximately four seconds, jumpers hit the water at some 76 miles per hour (122 km/h). At such a speed water has been determined to take on properties similar to concrete.[citation needed] Because of this, most jumpers die on their immediate contact with the water. The few who survive the initial impact generally drown or die of hypothermia in the cold water."

All I gotta say is holy sh*t.

There is hope.

Another place in the top 10 list is Niagara Falls. I know it's kind of obvious but I didn't really expect it. 20-25 deaths anually, never gonna look at that place the same again.
